Press Release - June 22, 2008- Introducing Justin Lin as the Alexandria Aces' Strength and Conditioning Coach

Justin Lin was formally introduced as the Alexandria Aces Collegiate Summer Baseball Team's Strength and Conditioning Coach and Team Physical Therapist during the Alexandria Sportsman's Club meeting on June 17, 2008 at the Alexandria Yacht Club. (see Aces Announcements)

Justin will bring to the Aces his years of baseball experience and knowledge. Originally from Orange County CA, Justin is a licensed Physical Therapist in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. He has also practiced as a strength and conditioning specialist for the past 10 years. He has been the head PT for Nova Pain and Rehab Centers (www.novapainandrehab.com) for the past year. A graduate of Boston University's Masters of Science in Physical Therapy, he is currently working on his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. His athletic background is extensive; it includes being a former Division 1 track and field athlete and US Olympic Bobsled invitee. Initially recruited to play baseball at a California college, Justin's baseball dream ended when he sustained a career ending shoulder injury in high school. Justin has trained under former MLB player Rene Gonzales. He was a high school teammate of current Colorado Rockies player Garrett Atkins. Justin played for the exclusive American Eagles Baseball Club that traveled to Australia to play the Australian National Team. He has participated in the Yawkey Baseball League of Boston and currently is active with the National Amateur Baseball Association in DC/VA.

The Aces will be playing in their inaugural season with the Cal Ripken Senior League. The Aces will be playing at Alexandria's Four Mile Run Park. The Aces are comprised of NCAA baseball players from many different universities and colleges around the nation. They will compete against other teams from the Maryland, DC, Virginia area, who have also recruited players from many universities and colleges.

The Cal Ripken League was founded by the Hall of Famer Cal Ripken to promote collegiate baseball in the Mid-Atlantic area. The players will be playing with wood bats, much like the Major League and unlike the usual aluminum bats used in the NCAA. More information on the team, their game schedule and on Justin's new position are available at www.alexandriaaces.org.
